About Marta Gomez
As a champion of community and education for all, Marta Gomez holds 20 years of experience in relationship-building, business development, and international trade. With a background in political science and project management, Marta is skilled at finding opportunities which result in win-win relationships between community leaders and the socially-responsible organizations she has represented.
Until recently, Marta managed the corporate relations office at Athabasca University’s Faculty of Business. In this role, Marta focused on workplace learning, development, and employee engagement by connecting organizations and professionals to leadership and management development programs.Having served as Assistant Dean, International of the Faculty of Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences at the University of Alberta, Marta increased enrollment among international applicants and connected Canadian students with partner research institutions abroad. Marta was instrumental in the internationalization of the faculty and the improvement of student engagement.
As Trade Development Officer for the Americas in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry with the Government of Alberta, Marta cultivated and facilitated public-private partnerships for Alberta’s agri-food products to penetrate new markets. By identifying solutions for collaboration and matching industry needs with customer-centric programming, Alberta’s agricultural exports grew exponentially year-on-year.
